| Wineries:
Hawke's Bay region is a premier wine producing area of New Zealand,
known as Hawkes Bay 'Wine Country'. With over 38 vineyards to choose from,
you can enjoy The Mission Estate with its beautifully refurbished buildings
and world class restaurant, or visit two of our newest wineries and restaurants
- Craggy Range, an architectural delight, or Black Barn winery and restaurant
set in the hills of Havelock North. Reservations for the restaurants are
essential for peak weekends. A variety of guided wine tours are available
for you to relax and enjoy. |

Shopping:
Napier is unique for its Art Deco architecture, open boulevard style
streets and many privately owned boutique shops. The city has 4 supermarkets,
and many fine restaurants and water front cafes offering a variety of cuisine
options and prices. Take a short 20 minute drive to Hastings and visit 'The
Farmers Market' selling fresh produce.
Shopping hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am
- 4pm.
Sports:
There are 5 championship golf courses to choose from, including world
famous Cape Kidnappers. Water sports such as kayaking, optimist yachting,
windsurfing, or chartered fishing tours, are just a few. Sky diving and hot
air ballooning are available for the more adventurous, among you. |

Have a great day visiting the National aquarium of N.Z, Marineland,
or Salty Rock indoor climbing wall. Just 20 minutes from Napier the city
of Hastings, where you can have fun at Splash Planet, or climb Te Mata Peak
and enjoy the fantastic panorama of Hawkes Bay.

Event Weekends:
For an exciting weekend in Hawkes Bay, choose one of the many popular
events hosted by the region.
Wine Harvest:
The Wine Harvest Festival celebrates the wine industry with live
entertainment and food at most of the major wineries. Church Road winery's
Jazz in the Park is legendary as is the wine auction and a variety of day
and night time festivities. Held the first weekend in Febuary.
Mission
Estate Concert:
Held on the slopes of the Mission vineyard, in a natural amphitheatre,
the concert is often a sell-out to 20,000 people and more. Artists such as
Rod Stewart and The Beach Boys have made this open air picnic, a fun, unique
and memorable experience. Held on the 2nd or last weekend in February. Website:

Art Deco Weekend:
This occasion brings Napier and Hastings to life with what is described
as "A Not Too Serious Event". There is a variety of open air Jazz bands playing,
dinners, vintage cars, and people dressed in 1930's costumes and outfits,
throughout the weekend. There are many outstanding events such as the Art
Deco Ball, Progressive Dinner, or the free Gatsby picnic on Sunday , just
to mention a few. Napier's architectural heritage is a result of the 1931
devastating earthquake and fire. This weekend is always the 3rd weekend in
